MetOceanWorks is a UK based metocean consultancy with a global reach and reputation. Our core skills combine technical expertise, oceanographic knowledge and innovative software solutions with specialist consultancy to support complex marine engineering and environmental projects. Established in 2012, we are a dynamic, inventive and highly skilled organisation. We have gained a reputation with many blue-chip clients providing high quality metocean data and expert interpretation to meet the rigorous requirements of the offshore industries.
Andrew Watson is the founder of MetOceanWorks and a respected oceanographer and metocean consultant. He is a Chartered Scientist, Chartered Marine Scientist and a Member of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology. With a broad background in marine science and a specialisation in applied physical oceanography, Andrew has worked as a professional oceanographer for over fifteen years. He is an expert hydrodynamic and wave modeller with a long history of establishing optimal metocean design criteria for offshore engineering applications.
Dave Quantrell has over fifteen years of experience transforming complex mathematical requirements into software implementations, predominantly through the use of MATLAB and associated products. After six years working for The MathWorks, covering a broad spectrum of industries, he moved his focus to the metocean industry, developing software to cover a myriad of requirements including the Metocean Extreme Reference Software (MERS) developed on behalf of the Norwegian Deepwater Project (NDP). Dave spends much of his time devoted to Research and Development work at MetOceanWorks, exploring cutting edge analysis methods and translating them into code.
Where necessary, we supplement our skills via well-established liaison with experienced independent metocean consultants.
